Revenged Love

Lately, we’ve seen a surge of Revenged Love posts circulating across various BL social media accounts. Some posters claim that the new season will stream on Viki, while others say it’s still too early to tell. There also appears to be an official X (formerly Twitter) account for the series, but so far, no updates have been posted.

Here’s what we do know: if released, Revenged Love will star actors Tian Xuning and Zi Yu. The series is reportedly connected to Chai Ji Dan’s successful BL novel Counterattack.

So, what is Counterattack?

Counterattack: Falling in Love with a Rival (逆袭之爱上情敌) is a Chinese web drama that aired in 2015, based on the popular web novel by Chai Ji Dan. It stars Feng Jianyu as Wu Suowei and Wang Qing as Chi Cheng. The story follows Wu Suowei, who, after being dumped by his girlfriend, plots to seduce her wealthy new boyfriend as revenge—but things get complicated as genuine feelings begin to develop.

The original series spans eight episodes and was released before China's crackdown on BL content and stricter censorship measures were implemented.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Revenged Love finds a home on Viki or another platform—and whether it truly continues or reimagines the story tied to Chai Ji Dan’s Counterattack.
